Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation—By Micah Siemens

Psalm 66 opens not in quiet fields, but in a summons that stretches across the earth. “Shout for joy to God, all the earth.” The voice is no longer local, rising from Zion alone—it is global, commanding every land and language to lift its praise. Worship here is not whispered gratitude but thunderous recognition. The whole world is called to behold the weight of divine majesty.

The psalm turns quickly to the awe-inspiring works of God. His deeds are described as “awesome,” His power so great that even enemies cringe before Him. This is not intimidation for its own sake; it is the natural response of creation confronted with holiness. Power is not chaotic but purposeful. The One who commands reverence does so because His works are unmistakably righteous.

Memory anchors the praise. The sea becomes dry land. The river is crossed on foot. These echoes of deliverance recall the mighty crossing of the Red Sea and the Jordan, moments when fear gave way to freedom. What once threatened to swallow the people became a path beneath their feet. History becomes testimony, and testimony becomes fuel for worship.

God’s rule is not confined to the past. “He rules by His might forever.” His eyes keep watch over the nations. The sovereignty that parted waters now surveys the world. Nothing escapes His notice. The rebellious are warned not to exalt themselves, for no throne stands beyond His sight. Authority rests securely in hands that neither weaken nor waver.

Psalm 66 begins, then, with a widening horizon. From earth’s farthest boundaries to the remembered seabeds of deliverance, everything falls under the steady reign of God. Before the psalm speaks of personal refinement or intimate gratitude, it establishes this foundation: the Lord reigns. The God who once made a way through the waters still governs the nations. And all the earth is summoned to stand in awe.
