Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation—By Micah Siemens

Psalm 71 shifts from personal petition to public proclamation, reminding us that faith is not meant to remain private. The psalmist declares: “My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds, of your saving acts all day long—though I know not how to relate them all.” Here, the act of remembering and speaking God’s deeds becomes a spiritual practice. Faith matures not only in silence or personal prayer but in the deliberate sharing of what God has accomplished in our lives. This sharing transforms individual experience into a communal witness, echoing the psalmist’s recognition that God’s work extends beyond the boundaries of a single heart.

The psalmist’s testimony is rooted in gratitude and astonishment. Every act of deliverance, every moment of guidance, every turn from danger is an opportunity to declare God’s greatness. By lifting our voices to recount these wonders, we participate in a living history of faith. Testimony bridges generations: it connects the lessons learned in youth with the wisdom gained in age, passing the torch of experience from one believer to another. In doing so, our stories become instruments of encouragement, offering hope to those who walk in uncertainty or fear.

Yet Psalm 71 reminds us that this proclamation is more than storytelling; it is an act of worship. “My lips will shout for joy, when I sing praise to you—my soul also, which you have redeemed.” Testimony engages both mind and heart. Speaking of God’s deeds aligns memory with gratitude, reflection with celebration. In lifting our voices, we embody the psalmist’s rhythm: acknowledgment, gratitude, and praise intertwined. Such expressions cultivate joy not only in the one who speaks but in all who hear, reinforcing faith as a shared experience.

This communal dimension challenges the notion that spirituality is solitary. Psalm 71 invites believers into a sacred dialogue: our praise validates and strengthens the faith of others, just as their stories inspire and affirm our own. Each personal deliverance, each answered prayer, becomes part of a larger symphony of witness, where joy resonates far beyond individual circumstances. The psalmist demonstrates that recounting God’s wonders is itself a form of trust, a recognition that God’s actions are worthy of being seen, spoken, and celebrated.

Ultimately, the psalmist shows us that faith deepens when it is shared. To proclaim God’s deeds is to participate in a tradition of gratitude, connecting past experiences, present joy, and future hope. As we raise our voices, we echo the psalmist’s declaration: the wonders of God are never confined—they ripple outward, inspiring all who listen, creating a community bound by trust, awe, and enduring praise.
