Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation By Micah Siemens

Psalm 71 closes with a profound vision of faith as an ongoing conversation, a dialogue that stretches across the span of life. The psalmist pleads, “Do not be far from me, O God; come quickly, my God, to help me. May my accusers perish and be covered with scorn and disgrace. But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.” Here, prayer is both urgent and enduring: it rises from immediate need yet flows naturally into persistent hope and gratitude. Life with God is not a single petition but a continuous exchange, where words of need, trust, and praise intermingle in rhythm with our days.

The psalmist models a holistic approach to faith: one that incorporates honesty, vulnerability, and celebration. Even in trials, the faithful are encouraged to speak openly, to name dangers and injustices, and to call on God’s intervention. Yet the dialogue does not stop with complaint or supplication. It extends into praise, testimony, and reflection, recognizing God’s ongoing presence and faithfulness. In this way, prayer becomes a living conversation, sustaining the heart through uncertainty while nurturing resilience and hope.

Psalm 71 also reminds us that this conversation is relational. Words spoken to God carry both intimacy and trust. By continually lifting petitions, recounting God’s deeds, and expressing gratitude, the psalmist reveals that faith is active, not passive. Prayer shapes the believer’s identity, reminding us that life is not navigated alone. In every season—youth, struggle, or old age—the faithful can bring the fullness of their experience into dialogue with God, confident that each word is heard, each cry noted, and each act of trust honored.

Moreover, this ongoing conversation nurtures community and legacy. The psalmist speaks not only for personal comfort but also as a witness to others: “My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long. Though I am poor and needy, the Lord thinks of me.” Prayer, lived consistently, bridges private and public life, transforming personal devotion into shared inspiration. Faith communicated over time becomes a beacon, connecting generations and inviting others to engage in their own dialogue with God.

Ultimately, Psalm 71 teaches that a life in conversation with God is both ordinary and extraordinary. It is ordinary because it reflects the daily rhythms of human need, hope, and gratitude. It is extraordinary because it turns every moment—weakness, joy, struggle, or triumph—into an opportunity for encounter with God. The psalmist shows that continual dialogue, grounded in trust and marked by honesty, sustains the soul and shapes a life fully anchored in God. To pray, to speak, and to listen; is to live fully in the presence of the One who never abandons, transforming ordinary days into a lifetime of faithful conversation.
