Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation—By Micah Siemens

“For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon you” In a world where people often struggle with guilt, regret, and the fear of rejection, these words offer profound comfort. David reminds us that God’s character is marked by goodness and mercy. He is not reluctant to forgive, nor does He withhold grace from those who seek Him. Many carry the weight of past failures, wondering if they have wandered too far or fallen too often. Yet this verse assures believers that God remains ready to welcome the repentant heart. His mercy is not limited or scarce; it overflows toward all who sincerely call upon Him.

“Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications” There are seasons when prayers seem to rise from places of deep weariness. Life’s burdens can leave people feeling unseen, unheard, or forgotten. David’s plea reflects the longing of every believer who desires assurance that God is listening. The beauty of prayer is that it connects finite hearts with an infinite God who cares deeply for His children. Even when answers are delayed or circumstances remain unchanged, believers can find comfort in knowing that every prayer is heard by the One who never ignores the cries of His people. No whispered request, silent tear, or desperate appeal escapes His attention.

“In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, for You will answer me” David speaks with remarkable confidence, not because he expects life to be free from difficulty, but because he knows where to turn when trouble comes. Every believer faces moments of uncertainty, sorrow, and fear. Difficult days are an unavoidable part of life in a broken world. Yet faith teaches us that trouble does not have the final word. God remains present in every trial, offering strength for today and hope for tomorrow. David’s confidence encourages believers to bring their concerns directly to God, trusting that He hears and responds according to His wisdom and love.

Psalm 86:5–7 paints a beautiful picture of God’s heart toward His people. He is good, eager to forgive, attentive to prayer, and faithful in times of trouble. These verses invite believers to approach God with confidence rather than fear, knowing that His mercy is abundant and His ears are open to their cries. When burdens feel heavy and answers seem distant, God remains the same compassionate Father who welcomed David’s prayers. His goodness, forgiveness, and unfailing care continue to provide hope and encouragement for every needy soul that calls upon Him.
