Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation—By Micah Siemens

“Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other” The psalmist gives one of Scripture’s most beautiful pictures of God’s heart. In human relationships, truth and love often feel divided. People may speak truth without compassion or offer kindness without honesty. Many carry wounds from betrayal, conflict, or disappointment, longing to be both fully known and fully loved. Yet in God, mercy and truth are never separated. His holiness does not cancel His compassion, and His peace does not ignore righteousness. In Christ, believers see this perfectly—a God who remains holy while drawing near to broken people with grace. For weary hearts burdened by guilt or failure, this verse offers deep comfort: God’s truth is always wrapped in mercy.

“Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven” The image is one of renewal flowing from both heaven and earth. There are seasons when goodness feels difficult to find. Dishonesty, division, and discouragement can leave people spiritually tired. Yet God continues working within His people. His righteousness still watches over the world, and His Spirit still produces faithfulness in surrendered hearts. Quiet acts of kindness, forgiveness, and obedience remind believers that God has not abandoned His creation. Even when hope feels small, He is still bringing renewal where weariness once grew.

“The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest” These words speak gently to anxious hearts. Many people walk through seasons that feel barren—waiting for healing, direction, or relief from heavy burdens. Over time, disappointment can make hope feel distant. But the psalmist reminds believers that God remains faithful to provide what is good. Sometimes His greatest work happens quietly within the soul before circumstances ever change. He grows deeper trust, stronger faith, and renewed dependence on Him. What seems empty today may still become fruitful in God’s hands.

“Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps” The psalm closes with the assurance that God moves forward in perfect faithfulness. Life often feels uncertain, and many struggle to see what lies ahead. Yet the Lord is never careless with the path of His people. His ways remain righteous even when they are difficult to understand. He goes before His children with wisdom, purpose, and care. Believers may not always know where the road leads, but they can trust the One who walks ahead of them.

Ultimately, Psalm 85:10–13 reminds believers that restoration begins with the character of God Himself. He is the God where mercy and truth meet, where peace and righteousness remain together. In a weary and divided world, these verses offer hope that God is still bringing healing, renewal, and peace to His people. Even in uncertain seasons, His faithfulness continues leading the way forward.
