Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation—By Micah Siemens

“Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name” David’s prayer reveals a deep desire not merely to know about God, but to live according to His ways. In a world filled with distractions, conflicting priorities, and endless pressures, it is easy for the heart to become divided. One part seeks God while another is drawn toward the concerns and desires of the world. David understood that true spiritual strength comes from a heart wholly devoted to the Lord. His request for God to “unite my heart” is a reminder that believers need God’s help to remain focused on what truly matters. As He teaches His people through His Word and Spirit, He guides them into a life marked by truth, faithfulness, and deeper reverence for His name.

“I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore” A heart that is united in devotion naturally responds with wholehearted worship. David’s commitment to praise God with all his heart reflects a relationship rooted in gratitude and trust. Too often, praise can become something offered only when circumstances are favorable. Yet David’s words point to a deeper reality: God’s worthiness does not depend on changing situations. Whether in seasons of joy or times of difficulty, believers can glorify His name because of who He is. Genuine worship flows from recognizing God’s constant goodness, faithfulness, and presence. When hearts are fixed on Him, praise becomes more than a momentary expression—it becomes a way of life.

“For great is Your mercy toward me, and You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol” David reflects on the mercy he has personally experienced from God. He remembers not only God’s power but also His compassion. Throughout life, there are moments when people feel overwhelmed by fear, failure, sorrow, or hopelessness. Yet God’s mercy reaches into the deepest places of human need. David knew what it meant to be rescued by God’s hand, and his testimony reminds believers that God remains a Deliverer today. His mercy is greater than human weakness, greater than past mistakes, and greater than any circumstance that threatens to overwhelm the soul. Those who trust in Him can find comfort in His unfailing love and sustaining grace.

Psalm 86:11–13 presents a beautiful progression of spiritual growth: learning God’s way, walking in His truth, praising Him wholeheartedly, and resting in His mercy. These verses remind believers that the Christian life is not merely about outward obedience but about a heart transformed by God’s presence. As He teaches, guides, and delivers His people, He draws them into deeper worship and greater confidence in His love. When life feels fragmented or burdensome, David’s prayer encourages believers to seek a united heart, trusting that the God who shows great mercy will continue to lead them in truth and fill their lives with reasons to praise His name forever.
