Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation—By Micah Siemens

“But you, O LORD, are on high forever” In contrast to the passing success of the wicked, the psalmist fixes his gaze upon the unchanging throne of God. Kingdoms rise and fall, people gain influence only to lose it, and the troubles of this world constantly shift, but the Lord remains forever exalted. His reign is neither threatened nor diminished by the chaos of history or the rebellion of mankind. Every promise He has spoken stands secure because His authority is eternal. When our hearts are unsettled by uncertainty or overwhelmed by the instability around us, this simple declaration restores our confidence: the Lord is still on His throne. His sovereign rule is our refuge, reminding us that nothing can overturn His purposes or diminish His glory.

“For behold, your enemies, O LORD, for behold, your enemies shall perish; all evildoers shall be scattered” The repetition of “behold” calls us to pause and consider the certainty of God’s righteous judgment. Those who oppose the Lord may appear powerful for a season, but their resistance cannot endure. Every force that exalts itself against His holy name will ultimately be brought low. This truth is not meant to cultivate pride or vindictiveness within God’s people, but to strengthen weary hearts that long for justice. We need not carry the burden of vengeance, for the Lord Himself will judge with perfect righteousness. What appears unresolved today rests safely in His hands, and His justice will one day be fully revealed.

“But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox; you have poured over me fresh oil” Having reflected on God’s victory, the psalmist now celebrates God’s gracious care for His own. The image of the horn speaks of renewed strength, while the fresh oil symbolizes blessing, refreshment, and God’s continuing favor. The Lord does not merely preserve His people; He strengthens them for every season they must endure. There are times when our strength feels exhausted and our spirits grow weary beneath life’s burdens. Yet God delights in renewing those who depend upon Him, supplying fresh grace for each new day. His strength is never depleted, and His provision never fails those who place their trust in Him.

“My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies; my ears have heard the doom of my evil assailants” The psalmist bears witness to God’s faithfulness in defending His servant. While the victories may not always come according to our preferred timetable, they arrive according to God’s perfect wisdom. The believer’s confidence rests not in personal ability but in the certainty that the Lord watches over His people. Every enemy of His kingdom, whether seen or unseen, ultimately falls beneath His sovereign authority. This assurance enables us to persevere with hope, knowing that our labor in the Lord is never in vain and that His final victory is absolutely certain.

Psalm 92:8–11 invites us to anchor our lives in the eternal reign of God rather than the passing circumstances of this world. His throne stands forever, His justice will surely prevail, His strength is continually renewed in His people, and His faithfulness never fails. As we walk through seasons of uncertainty, opposition, or weariness, these verses remind us that the God who reigns above all things also cares personally for those who belong to Him. Because He is forever on high, we can face each day with quiet confidence, renewed strength, and unwavering hope, trusting that the Lord who rules over all things will also faithfully sustain His children until His perfect purposes are complete.
