Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation—By Micah Siemens

“The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon” The psalmist now turns from the fate of the wicked to the beautiful stability of those who belong to the Lord. The palm tree thrives even in harsh conditions, while the cedar of Lebanon was renowned for its strength, height, and enduring character. Together these images remind us that true spiritual life is not measured by fleeting success but by steadfast faithfulness. The righteous are sustained by a source far deeper than favorable circumstances. Though storms may come, seasons may change, and trials may press heavily upon them, the life God plants continues to grow. The Lord delights in producing a quiet strength within His people that reflects His own unchanging faithfulness.

“They are planted in the house of the LORD; they flourish in the courts of our God” The secret of the believer’s flourishing is not found in personal ability or earthly achievement but in abiding near the presence of God. A tree flourishes because its roots draw constant nourishment, and so God’s people grow as they remain firmly rooted in Him. Worship, fellowship with the Lord, and continual dependence upon His Word become the soil in which faith matures. The closer we live to God, the more His grace shapes our hearts, strengthens our faith, and bears fruit through our lives. Lasting spiritual growth has never been the product of human effort alone, but of lives continually sustained by the presence of the One who gives life.

“They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green” One of the most encouraging promises in this psalm is that usefulness in God’s kingdom does not diminish with the passing of years. While the body may weaken, the life of the Spirit continues to flourish in those who walk faithfully with the Lord. The wisdom gained through years of trusting God becomes a rich blessing to others, and the testimony of enduring faith shines with increasing beauty. God’s people never outgrow their purpose in His kingdom. Every season of life provides fresh opportunities to display His grace, encourage younger believers, and demonstrate that His sustaining power remains constant from beginning to end.

“To declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him” The ultimate purpose of the righteous life is not self-display but the glory of God. As believers continue to bear fruit throughout their lives, they become living testimonies to the goodness, faithfulness, and righteousness of the Lord. Every evidence of spiritual growth points beyond ourselves to the God who has sustained us. He alone is our Rock—unchanging, dependable, and perfectly just. In a world where trust is often broken and promises are frequently abandoned, the unwavering character of God remains the sure foundation upon which every believer can confidently stand.

Psalm 92:12–15 calls us to find our confidence not in passing achievements but in the enduring life that God Himself gives to those who are rooted in Him. The Lord causes His people to flourish with quiet strength, sustains them through every season, grants lasting fruitfulness, and makes their lives a testimony to His unfailing faithfulness. Whether we are in the early years of growth or the later years of faithful endurance, these verses assure us that God’s work in His children never ceases. As we remain planted in His presence, we can rest in the promise that the God who is our Rock will continue to sustain, strengthen, and use us for His glory until the very end.
