Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation—By Micah Siemens

“For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods” Having called all the earth to sing and proclaim God’s salvation, the psalmist now directs our attention to the One who alone is worthy of such worship. The greatness of the Lord is beyond measure, surpassing every human description and every earthly comparison. His power, wisdom, holiness, and love are perfect and eternal, calling forth praise that can never fully express His worth. To fear the Lord is not to shrink from Him in terror but to stand in humble awe before His infinite majesty. As we behold His greatness, our hearts are drawn away from self-reliance and lifted into joyful reverence before the King whose glory fills heaven and earth.

“For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens” The psalmist draws a clear distinction between the living God and every false object of worship. Idols, whether carved by human hands or quietly enthroned within the human heart, can neither save, satisfy, nor sustain those who trust in them. Wealth, success, power, and human achievement all promise security, yet they cannot bear the weight of our deepest hopes. In contrast, the Lord is the Creator of the heavens, the eternal God who spoke the universe into existence and upholds it by His sovereign power. Because He alone is the Maker of all things, He alone deserves the complete trust, wholehearted devotion, and undivided worship of His people.

“Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary” The presence of God is marked by a glory unlike anything this world can offer. His splendor reveals the greatness of His divine nature, while His majesty reminds us that He reigns with absolute authority over all creation. Yet alongside His strength shines His beauty, for the holiness of God is not cold or distant but wonderfully attractive to every heart that seeks Him. In His presence we find both the power that upholds the weary and the beauty that satisfies the longing soul. The sanctuary becomes a picture of communion with God, where reverence and joy meet, and where His people are refreshed by the radiance of His glorious presence.

Psalm 96:4–6 calls us to lift our eyes above the passing attractions of this world and fix them upon the incomparable greatness of the Lord. Every rival to His rightful place in our hearts will ultimately disappoint, but the God who created the heavens remains forever faithful, glorious, and worthy of our praise. The more clearly we behold His splendor and majesty, the more willingly we surrender our lives to His loving rule. May our worship be shaped not by fleeting emotions but by the unchanging character of the Lord, whose strength sustains us, whose beauty captivates us, and whose greatness will be celebrated by His redeemed people for all eternity.
