Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation By Micah Siemens

“The LORD says to my lord: ‘Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet’” These words reveal the authority and victory of the Lord’s anointed King, whom recognize as Jesus Christ. The invitation to sit at God’s right hand speaks of honor, authority, and the assurance that His purposes will ultimately prevail. Even when opposition appears strong and evil seems to prosper, God remains sovereign over all things. This reminds us that we do not have to live in fear when the circumstances around us seem uncertain or overwhelming. Perhaps you have been facing a difficult situation that seems to grow more complicated with each passing day. You may have prayed for a breakthrough, only to find yourself still waiting for an answer. When you cannot see how things will work out, remember that God’s purposes are not defeated by the struggles you face. The Lord Jesus reigns even when the world around you seems unsettled. You may not understand what He is doing in this season, but you can rest in the assurance that His authority has not diminished and His promises have not failed. Do not allow today’s difficulties to convince you that evil has the final word. Keep trusting the King who reigns above every power and whose victory is certain.

“The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying, ‘Rule in the midst of your enemies!’” The image of the mighty scepter reminds us that God’s King exercises His authority even in the presence of opposition. Notice that He is called to rule in the midst of His enemies, not only after every enemy has disappeared. What a comforting truth for those of us who must continue living faithfully while surrounded by difficulties we cannot immediately change. Perhaps you are trying to remain patient in a strained relationship, maintain your integrity in an unfair workplace, or hold on to your faith while facing uncertainty about the future. You may wonder how to keep moving forward when the problems around you show no sign of disappearing. This passage reminds us that God’s presence and authority are not limited to seasons of peace and ease. He is still at work in the middle of our struggles, strengthening His people to remain faithful when circumstances test their hearts. You do not have to wait for every problem to be resolved before you can experience His peace. You can seek His wisdom today, choose kindness when others are unkind, and remain steadfast when discouragement tempts you to give up. The victory of Christ assures us that opposition does not have the final say. Even when the battle continues, we can live with courage because our King remains on His throne.

“Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor, your young men will come to you like dew from the morning’s womb” This verse presents a picture of a people who willingly offer themselves in service to their King. Their devotion is not portrayed as something forced upon them but as a willing response to His authority. Their holy splendor also reminds us that belonging to God involves a life set apart for His purposes. For us as followers of Christ, this speaks of the importance of offering our hearts, our time, and our abilities to the Lord with willing devotion. Perhaps you have grown weary from the demands of life, and serving others has begun to feel more like a burden than a privilege. You may be wondering whether your quiet acts of faithfulness matter when no one seems to notice or appreciate them. Remember that God sees the love behind every sincere act of service, even when others overlook it. You do not need to perform extraordinary deeds to prove your devotion to Him. Sometimes faithfulness means encouraging someone who feels forgotten, praying for a person who is struggling, or continuing to do what is right when no recognition follows. Ask the Lord to renew your willingness to serve Him, not out of fear or obligation, but out of gratitude for His grace. A heart surrendered to Christ can become a source of hope and encouragement to others, even through the simplest expressions of love.

Psalm 110:1–3 reminds us that Christ reigns with authority, remains sovereign amid opposition, and calls His people to serve Him willingly. The psalm directs our attention beyond the struggles of the present toward the certainty of God’s purposes. We may not always understand why difficulties persist or why answers to our prayers seem delayed, but we can trust the King who is never overcome by the forces that trouble us. Perhaps you are walking through a season when fear has overshadowed your hope, weariness has weakened your faith, or uncertainty has made it difficult to see the way forward. You may feel as though you are fighting battles that will never end. Yet you are not called to face tomorrow as though everything depends on your strength alone. Jesus Christ reigns, and His authority is greater than anything that threatens to overwhelm you. Keep trusting Him in the midst of uncertainty, remain faithful in the work He has entrusted to you, and offer Him your willing heart each day. You may not see the fullness of His victory in your present circumstances, but you can live with confidence in the One whose reign will never fail. When the road becomes difficult and your strength begins to fade, remember that your hope rests not in the absence of opposition but in the unshakable authority of your King.
