Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation By Micah Siemens

“The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: ‘You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek’” This verse reveals the unique and everlasting priesthood of Jesus Christ, who not only reigns as King but also serves as the perfect Mediator between God and humanity. Unlike human leaders whose promises may fail and whose strength eventually fades, Christ’s priesthood will never end. What a comforting truth for those who sometimes wonder whether God still hears their prayers or remembers their struggles. Perhaps you have been praying for a loved one, asking God for direction, or seeking peace in a season of deep uncertainty. You may feel that your prayers have gone unanswered and wonder whether you are facing your struggles alone. Remember that Jesus Christ remains your eternal High Priest, and you can approach God through Him with confidence. Your circumstances may change, your strength may weaken, and your feelings may fluctuate, but Christ’s faithfulness remains unshaken. When you do not know what tomorrow holds, rest in the assurance that your hope rests in the One whose priesthood will never end.

“The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath” These words remind us that the Lord stands beside His King and that no earthly power can ultimately resist His authority. The language of judgment may feel sobering, but it also assures us that injustice, wickedness, and oppression will not have the final word. Perhaps you have been hurt by someone who refuses to acknowledge the damage they have caused, or you have watched wrongdoing go unchallenged while the innocent continue to suffer. You may wonder whether truth will ever prevail or whether those who cause pain will ever be held accountable. This passage reminds us that God sees what others overlook, and His justice is not limited by human weakness or corruption. We do not need to surrender to bitterness or take revenge into our own hands. Instead, we can entrust our pain to the righteous Judge, knowing that His judgment is perfect. While we wait for Him to act, may He give us the grace to remain faithful, to pursue what is right, and to refuse to let the wrongs we have suffered harden our hearts.

“He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth” This powerful verse portrays the complete victory of God’s appointed King over the powers that oppose His rule. It reminds us that no nation, ruler, or human authority stands beyond the reach of God’s judgment. In a world troubled by violence, corruption, and uncertainty, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by events that seem far beyond our control. Perhaps the news has filled your heart with anxiety, or the struggles of your community have left you wondering whether peace is still possible. You may feel helpless as you watch suffering continue despite the prayers and efforts of those who long for change. Yet this passage calls us to remember that history is not moving toward chaos without purpose. God remains sovereign, and Christ’s ultimate victory is certain. This does not mean that we should ignore suffering or become indifferent to injustice. Rather, our confidence in God’s final victory should strengthen us to pursue peace, love our neighbors, and stand for what is right. We may not be able to change the whole world, but we can faithfully serve God where He has placed us, trusting that evil will not reign forever.

“He will drink from a brook along the way, and so he will lift his head high” After describing the King’s overwhelming victory, the psalm closes with a striking picture of refreshment and triumph. The image of drinking from a brook suggests a moment of refreshment along the way, followed by the lifting of the head in victory. Though interpretations of this verse vary, its closing picture points toward the victorious King who continues forward until His triumph is complete. For those of us who grow weary along life’s journey, this image offers a meaningful reminder that our struggles do not have to leave us permanently discouraged. Perhaps you have been carrying responsibilities that seem never-ending, caring for others while neglecting your own weariness, or pressing forward when your heart longs for rest. You may feel that you have little strength left to face another difficult day. Remember that weariness does not mean you have failed, and needing refreshment does not mean you have abandoned your calling. Come to the Lord in prayer, return to His Word, and allow His promises to renew your heart. You do not have to carry every burden in your own strength. The God who sustains His people can give you the grace to rise again, lift your eyes beyond your present difficulties, and continue walking in faith.

Psalm 110:4–7 reminds us that Jesus Christ is our eternal High Priest, the righteous King who judges evil, and the victorious Lord whose purposes will ultimately prevail. These verses direct our attention beyond the uncertainty of the present toward the security of God’s promises. Perhaps you are struggling with unanswered prayers, grieving over injustice, or feeling exhausted by burdens that seem too heavy to bear. You may wonder how much longer you must wait before seeing God’s goodness in your circumstances. Yet your hope does not depend on having every question answered or every difficulty removed. Jesus Christ remains faithful, His authority is unshakable, and His victory is certain. Keep bringing your concerns before Him, trust Him when you cannot understand His timing, and continue doing what is right even when the world around you seems broken. When your heart grows weary, remember that the King who reigns is also the One through whom you draw near to God. You are not forgotten, your prayers are not offered to an indifferent Savior, and your future does not rest in the hands of a troubled world. Lift your head and keep trusting Christ, for the King who intercedes for His people will never fail, and His victory will never end.
