Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

“When Israel went out from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language” The psalmist begins by reminding us of the day God led His people out of Egypt, away from the land of their suffering and the place of their bondage. Israel had endured years of hardship, and their cries for deliverance had risen to the Lord. When they could no longer see a way forward, God made a way for them. Their departure from Egypt was not simply a change of location; it was the beginning of a new chapter shaped by the faithfulness of God. Perhaps you are walking through a season when you feel trapped by circumstances you cannot change or burdened by struggles that seem to have no end. You may have prayed for relief and wondered how much longer you must wait. Remember that the God who heard Israel’s cries has not forgotten His people. He sees the burdens you carry, understands the fears you cannot express, and knows the way forward even when you cannot see it. Your present struggle does not have to be the end of your story. The same Lord who brought His people out of bondage remains faithful, and in His perfect time, He can lead you through seasons you never imagined you would have to face.

“Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion” These words reveal that God did not deliver Israel merely to bring them out of Egypt; He brought them into a relationship with Himself. Judah became His sanctuary, and Israel became the place of His rule. The people who had once lived under the oppression of a foreign ruler now belonged to the Lord, who would guide them according to His purposes. What a beautiful reminder that God’s deliverance is not only about where He brings us from, but also about whom we belong to. Sometimes we become so focused on escaping our difficulties that we forget the greater blessing of walking with God through them. We long for changed circumstances, yet the Lord also desires to shape our hearts and teach us to trust His presence. Even when life feels uncertain, we can find peace in knowing that we are not abandoned or left to find our own way. The world may define us by our failures, our past, or the burdens we carry, but God calls us to find our identity in Him. When we belong to the Lord, our lives are no longer defined solely by what has happened to us; they are held within the loving purposes of the One who redeemed us. His presence becomes our refuge, His Word our guide, and His faithfulness our hope when the road ahead seems difficult.

Together, these verses remind us that the Lord who delivered Israel from Egypt is also the God who calls His people into a life of belonging and worship. He does not simply rescue us from what holds us captive; He invites us to walk with Him and live under His loving care. Our journey may include wilderness seasons, unanswered questions, and moments when our faith feels weak, but we do not walk alone. The God who led Israel out of Egypt knew the path before them, even when they did not understand what lay ahead. In the same way, we can entrust our uncertain future to His faithful hands. If you are longing for freedom from a painful situation today, do not lose heart when the way forward seems hidden. Continue to pray, remain faithful in the small things, and remember that God’s presence is not limited to the places where life feels easy. He is with us in the waiting, sustains us in the wilderness, and remains worthy of our trust when answers are slow to come. And when He leads us into new seasons, may we never forget that the greatest blessing is not simply receiving what we have prayed for, but belonging to the God who has carried us along the way. We are His people, held by His grace and guided by His faithfulness. Therefore, whatever lies behind us and whatever awaits us tomorrow, may our hearts rest in this enduring truth: the Lord who leads us out is also the Lord who walks with us onward.
