Seek first the Kingdom of God…

I love to write! We are building a community of readers and writers that share a passion to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then everything else will follow. This is a place where we express our writing and imagination for His glory.

Emotional Meditation By Micah Siemens

“Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob” After describing how the sea fled, the Jordan turned back, and the mountains skipped like rams, the psalmist now calls the whole earth to tremble before the presence of God. The One who brought His people out of Egypt is not an ordinary God. He is the Creator of heaven and earth, the Almighty Lord before whom all creation must bow. His presence is so powerful that even the earth itself is called to tremble. What an important reminder this is for us when we become overwhelmed by the things happening around us. We often allow our circumstances to fill our hearts with fear, forgetting that the God who rules over all creation is the same God who watches over us. There may be times when life feels uncertain, when unexpected changes leave us anxious, or when the future seems too difficult to face. We may wonder what will happen next and whether we will have the strength to endure it. Yet we must remember that our God has not lost His authority. Nothing surprises Him, nothing overwhelms Him, and nothing is beyond His control. The same Lord who made the earth tremble is able to steady our troubled hearts. Therefore, when fear begins to take hold of you, lift your eyes to the One who is greater than everything you are facing. Let His greatness remind you that you are not alone, and let His presence give you the courage to keep trusting Him.

“He turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water” The psalmist concludes this beautiful picture of God’s power by reminding us of how He provided water from the rock in the wilderness. What appeared dry, hard, and completely incapable of producing life became a source of refreshing water through the power of God. Israel had no natural way of providing for its needs in that barren place, but the Lord was able to do what His people could never accomplish for themselves. This reminds us that God can bring provision even from the most unlikely places. Sometimes we find ourselves in wilderness seasons when everything seems dry. Our strength may be fading, our prayers may seem unanswered, and our hearts may feel empty from carrying burdens for too long. We may look at our circumstances and see no possible solution. Perhaps you are facing a need that you do not know how to meet, a difficulty that seems impossible to overcome, or a season in which you have lost the joy and strength you once had. Remember that the God who brought water from the rock is still able to sustain His people. He knows exactly what you need, even when you cannot see where the answer will come from. His provision may not always come in the way we expect, but His wisdom never fails. Do not allow the dryness of your circumstances to convince you that God has forgotten you. The place that looks barren to you is never beyond His ability to bring refreshment. Keep trusting Him, for He is able to provide strength when you are weary, hope when you are discouraged, and grace when you feel you have nothing left to give.

Together, these verses remind us that the God we serve is both mighty in power and faithful in provision. He is the Lord before whom the earth trembles, yet He is also the loving God who provides water for His thirsty people. His greatness should fill our hearts with reverence, and His faithfulness should fill our hearts with confidence. What a comfort it is to know that the One who holds all creation in His hands also cares about the smallest details of our lives. We sometimes forget this when we find ourselves walking through difficult seasons. We see the dryness of the wilderness but forget the God who can bring water from the rock. We see the uncertainty of tomorrow but forget the Lord who already knows what lies ahead. We focus on what we lack rather than on the One who has promised never to abandon us. Yet the story of Israel reminds us that God is able to sustain His people even in places where human strength and resources are insufficient. He does not need favorable circumstances to accomplish His purposes, and He does not depend on what we consider possible. There may be days when you feel as though you are walking through a dry and lonely wilderness, wondering how much longer you can continue. Do not lose heart. The Lord sees you, knows your needs, and remains faithful even when you cannot understand what He is doing. Continue to seek Him, trust His promises, and depend on His grace. The God who makes the earth tremble is also the God who makes the dry rock flow with water. May we never forget that His power is sufficient for our greatest difficulties, His provision is enough for our deepest needs, and His presence is our greatest source of hope in every season of life.
